This is the ultimate space saver. The clients have an extensive collection of sweaters, and a bedroom that is too small for a number of dressers. They wanted a piece that would be a focal point for the room and add drama and artistry to a loosely matched collection of bedroom pieces. We settled on an amoire.

We visited their home, took photographs of existing furniture, and made sketches of the space where the amoire would be located. To best accommodate the existing decor and fit the space availabe, the piece is made of oak with a golden oak stain, and measures 30”w x 60”h x 24”d. It has two self-closing, raised panel doors that conceal two adjustable shelves for maximum storage. It also features a single large drawer with traditional dovetail joinery for change of season clothing. The clients selected the hardware.

Because the amoire is vertical in design, it offers the storage space of two dressers, while setting a tone for the entire room. It’s the first thing you see when you enter the bedroom.
